The 6,000-seat Shahid Raisi Hall of the Samen Stadium has become more accessible to the blind and visually impaired.
The governor of Khorasan Razavi made a surprise visit to the construction of the 6,000-seat Shahid Ayatollah Raisi Hall in the Samen Al-Aimmah Sports Complex.
As a result of this visit, an appropriate budget was allocated considering the dimensions of the Samen Al-Aimmah Sports Complex.
Making the Sports Complex Suitable for the Visually Impaired
A visually impaired person who is interested in exercising in the gym says: “I want to go to the gym again, but my father is worried that if my cane hits the treadmill or exercise machine, I might hurt myself or someone else.”
One of the main barriers to access for visually impaired people is inaccessible sports equipment. Although color markers are useful for visually impaired people, the ability to turn the devices on and off does not create accessibility. Due to the design of their interface, it is difficult, and likely impossible, to use all of the devices’ features independently if you are blind or have low vision.
Some of the bikes we have used during our commutes actually use touch buttons to increase and decrease the resistance of the pedals. For bikes that rely solely on flat-panel controls, marking techniques similar to those used for treadmills can be utilized. However, like treadmills, many of today’s bikes can be set to change resistance as you cycle to indicate uphill and downhill, but the marking techniques do not provide access to these features or other visual display information.
Finally, we will conclude by noting that exercise is essential for everyone’s health. Dr. Ludwig Guttmann, the man who founded the Paralympics, urged his spinal cord patients to exercise for their own health.
